Nigel loved sports – he played football for the 1st Eleven at Eastwood High and was selected to play for the Glasgow Schools' Team – he also played tennis for the school team and later at Hillpark Tennis Club – he became junior champion in his 1st year.
Nigel cutting a dash – he loved fashion – I remember him telling me that his mum always bought him really expensive shoes – a theme he continued with throughout his years and of course the signature polo neck – the passport photo makes me smile – the only time he had a moustache!
Nigel started work early as a paperboy for RS McColl’s at Eastwood Toll – then some time delivering Calor Gas cylinders, selling shoes at Saxone and as a sales assistant at Watches of Switzerland. He spent some time in London working at Martins Bank but decided that London wasn’t for him and came back home to Scotland.
Nigel was also accepted to The Glasgow School of Art – he didn’t really enjoy his time there so only stayed for a short while – his love of art and all things creative never left him – painting became his hobby rather than a career.
